So I made this post before I received my mikro mk3, and I've only had about 40 minutes to sit down with it and that includes all the software setup. Wow! Clearly you are an advanced Maschine user! I am just learning the Maschine software and I quite like it.

can't currently find a good workaround for the problem of not being able to simultaneously record midi output and have midi overdub activated (so although there are ways to loop-record layered midi patterns from the mikro controller in Reaper, you can't get the more advanced performance stuff like note repeat that is active in native plugin mode and not in midi controller mode).

can't find a way to switch plugin instances from the mikro mk3 hardware (there was a dedicated function in earlier hardware but I can't find it in the new one, and the manual says you can do it but doesn't say how) I'm probably going to end up with two track templates, one with Maschine configured to trigger by midi notes per sound, one by midi channel per sound, to cater for simple one-shot style kits vs times when I want to exploit the keyboard/pitch functionality in Maschine. Playtime is used for clip launching (from a Launchpad Pro). My basic setup is to bring the audio in on separate tracks (16 per Maschine instance) and have all the midi recorded and played back from Reaper, recorded from the controller in plugin mode.

Not sure if your focus is getting the mikro hardware to work with Reaper in general or if you want to find a good integration between the Maschine plugin and Reaper? I'm mainly trying to do the latter at the moment. I'm trying to get the mikro mk3 configured in Reaper.
